February 26 was the anniversary of Balakot airstrike conducted by India in the early morning hours, when Indian warplanes crossed the J&K and dropped bombs in the icinity of the town of Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The strike had been carried out not in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), a region over which Pakistan rejects India's territorial claim, but deep inside Pakistani territory. The target was a big terrorist camp and the aim was not only to destroy the terrorist camp inside Pakistan, but also to give a warning that Pakistan should not take India so lightly and stop supporting the terrorists.

Pakistan Air Force was not ready to respond. In fact, it did not get any idea till the Indian team returned safely leaving the Pakistan military expressing its frustration and anger. Pakistan's military announced about the Indian airstrike in the morning of 26 February, 2019. India, confirming the airstrike later the same day, characterized it to be a preemptive strike directed against a terrorist training camp and causing the death of a "large number" of terrorists.

India confirmed that the airstrikes were conducted in retaliation to the Pulwama attack by Pakistan supported terrorists that killed more than 40 Indian Para-military soldiers, who were travelling in the bus and not battle-ready. The handlers, Jaish-e-Mohammed, of the sucide bomber, were directing the operation from Pakistan. The Indian strikes were subsequently claimed to be "non-military" and "preemptive" in nature; targeting a Jaish- e-Mohammed facility within Pakistan at Balakot.

The airstrike was the first time since the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 that attacking warplanes had crossed the Line of Control. Every time, Indian was keeping restraint and trying to solve the problems through dialogue.  The main aim of the strike was to tell Pakistan that the terrorists it was supporting and the terrorist camps it was maintaining inside Pakistan, could be destroyed any time. It was appropriate reply to Pakistan with a lesson to stop supporting terrorists and using it as its foreign policy tool to intimidate its neighbours.

After the attack, the Pakistani army immediately took over the control of the area and never allowed any person and media personnel to visit that area. Reports reveal that Pakistan army tried to remove all the evidences of attack and destruction from that area. All the dead bodies and injured were removed from the scene.  This incident shocked and surprised the Pakistani establishments, terrorists and the world. But, the world was happy to know that it was a step forward to teach the terrorists a lesson and make Pakistan understand the outcome of supporting the terrorists.

Pakistan, contrary to its usual habit, could not make much hue and cry because it new it was on the wrong side. After many days of the strike, on 10 April 2019, some international journalists were taken to the Jaba hilltop in a tightly controlled trip arranged by Pakistani government. By that time, the Pakistan army removed all the evidences of the attack and erected the damaged structure as earlier, It removed all the dead bodies of the terrorists from the scene, so that the visiting delegation could not find any trace of the attack.

The strike was so sudden and unexpected that left Pakistan in a state of shock. At initial stage, it could not react and give its statements in the media. More over, it did not know how to hide the fact that the dreaded terrorists were being harboured there. Later, it used all its propaganda exercise and words to call itself innocent. It started threatening India of serious consequences.

Pakistan fought four wars with India and in all the wars, it had to suffer a lot, including loss of men and material. It even lost the East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). It should introspect and try to appease various words of dissention among its citizens. Pashtoons, Balochis, Sindhis etc. are not happy with the government and want separate state. Pakistan always boasts of its army, which is exercising its powers on its own unarmed citizens. Citizens are largely apprehensive of Pak army atrocities. Countries keep the army for the defence of its borders, people, national interests etc. and people are not harassed or terrified. But, in Pakistan the situation is entirely opposite.

Only its own citizens are targetted. For asserting its position internationally, it takes the help of state- sponsored terorists. It has not only supported terrorists, but also it has created terrorists. Thẻ situation has gone beyond its control and many terrorist organisations are not under its own control. They are even targeting Pakistan army, civilians etc.

The Indian Air Force accomplish the task with precision and perfect planning. It also dodged the Pakistani air force during action. Indian airplanes even destroyed one F-16 of Pakistani air force. Initially, Pakistan was in a denial mode, but later on it had to accept the fact. Balakot aerial strike put Pakistan into isolation, particularly in the matters of terror funding The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has become particularly tough after the Pulwama terror attack and India's response to it. Pakistan has again been put in the Grey List of FATF for further four more months with a stem warning that it needs to complete the 27- point action plan it has been given by June 2020 or face the prospect of being put on the black list This would mean massive economic sanctions on Pakistan. This would further deteriorate the gloomy economic condition of Pakistan.

Pakistan always forgets that India is far superior by all means. Ultimately, it tries to warn on Nuclear front. But, it always forgets that India is also a Nuclear capable power. The highly irresponsible statements by Pakistani leaders on the use of Nuclear power against India, show the extent of frustration of Pakistani leadership. Those leaders have never shown a rational and progressive approach towards any situation. They always tried to intimidate others by using terrorists. Its narrow-minded ammy institution has so much intervention in every sphere of life that it never allows the democratically elected government to think freely. Every single Pakistani citizen is paying price of the destruct approach of Pakistan's army and very weak political leadership.
